Film screenings took place on 19–20 August 2016 at Stanwell Park Anglican Church Hall. For historical material, contact the Helensburgh & District Historical Society.
About the film
The Helensburgh & District Historical Society presented a long-lost advertising film for the Stanwell Park Estate, subdivided in 1908. Filmed for Henry Halloran in 1913 by the Southern Cross Film Company, it was donated by his son Warren Halloran to Michael Adams, historian and author.
Restored, scanned and digitised by DVD Infinity, Sutherland, the silent black-and-white footage shows steam trains, the original station on Lawrence Hargrave Drive, the surf club and beach, lifesavers, picnics, camping, fashions, city transport, and early Stanwell Park.
