Helensburgh Masterplan – WCC seeks public feedback

31 May, 2020 By Ian

Helensburgh Town Planning
Source: Wollongong City Council.

Wollongong City Council is seeking feedback on a series of plans and projects for the township of Helensburgh.  Rather than looking at these project individually, the WCC has decided to tackle 3 major projects at once and are seeking public feedback through their web portals (links below).

“Helensburgh is a vital town in our city and is our most northern area where we have about 7,100 community members. Council has decided to combine these three essential opportunities so we can build a comprehensive look at what future considerations and actions we need to take. By engaging on the plans simultaneously, Council is able to streamline community engagement, and also develop phased plans that can be ready to roll in early 2021.

Now we are asking the broader community to visit our website and join the conversation on the proposed draft Town Centre Plan, the draft Streetscape Masterplan and what they would like to see included in a new, multi-purpose community facility,” Wollongong City Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery said.¹

The 3 projects are:

  1. Helensburgh Town Centre Plan
  2. Helensburgh Streetscape Masterplan
  3. Helensburgh Community Centre Option

There are 3 extensively researched and produced plans and proposals the Wollongong City Council would like public feedback and opinion on.

To have your say you can join the conversation on Helensburgh at:

Listed in the site are direct link to all 3 projects (in draft form), and video.

Submissions Close – 22 June 2020
